Jerry Fish

A little about the journey so far...

I am an Irish songwriter and musician.  My first "Real" band An Emotional Fish signed to Atlantic Records in 1990, and recorded three studio albums. The 1990’s was a great time to be touring in an Alternative Rock Band. We toured with U2 (Zooropa) Nirvana, Sonic Youth, The Cramps, The Ramones and The Happy Mondays. FUN TIMES! Our biggest hit the "Cult Classic!" ‘Celebrate’ was covered by Italian rocker Vasco Rossi in 1993 and became a massive hit in Italy.

On the road and in the recording studio, An Emotional Fish were special. Alas the major label boring stuff and endless touring took its toll, and we eventually called it a day in 1996.

Somewhat disillusioned with the music business, I dropped out and took off on a vintage motorcycle to find out what next?

An Independent Artist.

I returned to music in the year 2000, formed an independent record label and released two solo albums 'Be Yourself' 2002 and 'The Beautiful Untrue' 2009.  Both solo records were commercially successful projects and allowed me once again to make music my full time career.

In 2012, my response to the decline in physical music sales was to "Run away with the Circus" focusing on live performance and my love of the Glastonbury festival fringe theatre stages, forming my very own festival extravaganza: The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow, which is a main attraction at Ireland’s biggest music and arts festival; Electric Picnic

I work today as a songwriter, touring musician, festival curator, circus ringmaster, MC and veteran survivor of the music business.
